"WOOD" will be featured during the Sewickley Gallery Walk
on September 30, from 5-9PM and Oct. 1 from 10PM-5PM.

Humans cannot escape the presence of wood in their lives. Even the most contemporary urban settings often have traces of woods - past, present, or reiterations thereof - within them. From elegantly crafted furniture to the most basic stump stool, from functional modern day objects to structural bracing for our security, wood makes a presence and affects our lives.

The "WOOD" exhibit presents work from a select group of artists:
Robert Bishop
Wade Caruso
John Eastman
Ryan Kruljac
Jim Ladner
Todd Sanders
William Schlough
who have a close-up, hands-on relationship with this strong, porous, and beautiful natural material. Using skills developed over hours upon hours of hands-on work, these artists produce furniture, coolly designed functional objects and sculptural pieces from the likes of large felled trees, logs, and finely milled cut slabs. The end results are stunning, and viewers will find themselves warmed in their presence.
